Saturday Morning: Sort and Purge

Start by pulling everything out of the garage onto the driveway. Yes, everything. This is the hardest step but the most important. Sort into four piles: Keep, Donate, Trash, and Sell. Be ruthless — if you have not used it in two years, you probably never will. Saturday Afternoon: Clean the Space

Scrub oil stains on the floor with a degreaser and stiff brush. Hose down the floor and let dry. Wipe down shelving units and workbenches. Clean garage windows if present. Sunday: Organize and Optimize

Now put only the Keep items back, using these organization strategies: wall-mounted hooks for bikes, garden tools, and ladders (get items off the floor). Clear storage bins (labeled) for seasonal items. Overhead ceiling-mounted storage for items used infrequently. A designated workbench area. Sports equipment zone near the door. Keep-frequently-used items at eye level and arm's reach. Leave enough floor space to actually park your car.
