Start While Guests Are Still There

The best time to start party cleanup is during the event — not to obsessively clean, but to stay ahead of the accumulation. Empty trash cans halfway through the event, collect empty glasses and bottles, and wipe up spills immediately (the longer they sit, the harder they are to remove). Stain Treatment: Act Quickly

At a party, some stains are inevitable. Act on them immediately for the best removal results: blot (don't rub) beverage spills, use club soda on wine and juice stains, treat grease immediately with dish soap, and call a professional carpet cleaner for any significant wine, food coloring, or candle wax incidents. Don't let stains dry overnight — some are permanent once set.
